Dresang’s Radical Change theory provides a framework for comprehending the characteristics of books in the era of digital technology. The books in this era embody the essential elements of interactivity, connectivity, and accessibility that define the digital world. Within the digital realm, books incorporate both visual information and words, creating a visually immersive and graphically striking reading experience that appeals to readers of all age groups. The distinctive features of literature for youth in the digital age necessitate a hypertextual approach to thinking and reading, as the text and images are presented in a juxtaposed manner that encourages nonlinear and highly interactive reading experiences. Dresang identifies three types of changes occurring in contemporary literature for young people: changes in forms and formats, changes in perspectives, and changes in boundaries. These changes are interconnected with the connectivity, interactivity, and accessibility provided by the digital world, and are particularly evident in children’s literature in digital era. This paper will focus on the application of the Radical Change Theory to literaturee for youth and its significance for young readers. In studying children’s literature in digital age, the aim is to explore the implications of the Radical Change Theory and gain an understanding of its impact on young readers in the digital age.
